Are you striving to learn, understand, and practice
all you can about writing well and telling a story well?
Do you want to employ the devices and techniques
that make a work stand out in today's glutted marketplace?
Do you need some guidance and feedback?
IF SO —
We, the SVP-C, have evolved into a focused Pennwriters sub-group
that not only write and publish but continually learn and practice story craft and
seek to uncover secrets and elite practices that beget outstanding works
to meet industry standards and reader acclaim.
We learn by doing but also by discussing and using online technology,
holding craft-specific mini-workshops,
do how-to books reviews, and dissect movies for their story structure.
Questions on craft and the industry are answered.
Monthly challenges are strictly volunteer —
these short works not only spur the imagination
but they also generate and showcase
improvements in an individual's writing
and yield works for submission to contests
and paying markets.

The SVP (Shenango Valley Pennwriters) is an Area 1 writer's group. Founded in 2008, the SVP is part of Pennwriters Inc, whose mission is to help writers of all levels, from the novice to the award-winning and multi-published, improve and succeed in their craft. We revised our group name to SVP-Craftmasters in 2022.
